Reese Witherspoon's father, John Witherspoon, has been accused of bigamy by his wife. 
Mary Elizabeth 'Betty' Witherspoon, 60, the mother of the Oscar-winning actress, has filed a lawsuit against her estranged husband.
Mr Witherspoon, 70, wed Tricianne Taylor, 60, on January 14, but his wife says that he is still married and the marriage is void.

She also claims her husband has no recollection of the January 14 wedding and she fears for his safety.
'When I confronted my husband, he said he didn't know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married,' said Mrs Witherspoon in the affidavit. 
 
Mrs Witherspoon believes her husband, who was married before they wed, is suffering from early on-set dementia and claims he has a history of drinking, reports USA Today. 
He also has issues with compulsive over-spending and owns five motorcycles, five boats and recently bought a Cadillac.

The bogus wedding was announced in April in The Tennessean.
The paid-for write-up describes the Southern-themed ceremony.
'Cowboy boots and yellow roses accented the ambiance of the couple's Texas heritage,' said the announcement. 
'The bride's full-length formal ivory satin gown featured a sequin-braided halter neckline. The groom wore a white linen suit accented with a gold Parthenon tie, [a] gift from the bride.'
After viewing the notice, Mrs Witherspoon confronted Ms Taylor in a letter, stating that she was still married to Mr Witherspoon. Taylor did not respond to the communication. 
Mrs Witherspoon claim Taylor and Mr Witherspoon are living in a Nashville home owned by her famous daughter and that he has changed his will.
'I also fear for my husband's personal safety and the safety of my family,' said Mrs Witherspoon.
The court records show that Mrs Witherspoon has requested that any property, vehicles and jewelry Taylor has received since the illegal ceremony are returned. 
The actress has remained silent on the topic but Taylor was refused entry to Reese's wedding to husband Jim Toth, 41, in March.
This is not the first family scandal for the Witherspoon family.
The actress' older brother, also called John, was arrested in 2002 for sexually assaulting a female neighbour as she lay sleeping on her couch.
Reese Witherspoon, 36, was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe and has two children from the relationship, Deacon, 8, and Ava, 12.
She is expecting her first child with Jim Toth.
